Exam Results 2007:
Through the hard work of students and staff and the support
of our parent body Nonsuch is pleased to announce a record
set of exam results.
At Advanced Level 81% of grades were either A or
B (76% in 2006). 3 students gained 5 grade A's; 10 students
will be taking up Oxbridge places. 14 students are starting
medical/dentistry or veterinary science courses. Students
taking Advanced Extension Awards in English, History and
Classics achieved 100% success. Rachel Pelham was placed
in the top 10 nationally for her performance in A Level
Human Biology.
In the A/S examinations 70% of grades were either
A/B. 6 students achieved 5 grade A's with another 31 students
achieving 4 grade A's. These are really excellent results
providing a very firm foundation for A Level study. The
Year 11 A/S results in German and Mathematics were very
pleasing. Every student passed the examination. In German
46% of grades were either A/B; in Mathematics 68% of grades
were either A/B. This represents a very significant achievement
given that the examinations were taken one year early.
At GCSE
99.5% of pupils achieved 5+ A*-C; 82% of grades were A*/A
- a record achievement. Nationally, Emma Maitland scored
in the top 10 marks in English Literature and Drama; Clare
Suckling in Technology (Product Design) and Julia Goddard
and Joanna Hall in Astronomy. These are truly outstanding
results.
In Year 10 the 22 German pupils entered early for
the GCSE achieved 98% A*/A grades; the 41 pupils entered
for Mathematics achieved 100% A*/A. Pupils studying Italian
as an after-school activity achieved 100% A*-B after only
one year of study. 92% of pupils who opted to take Foundation
level in a language at the end of Year 9 achieved the highest
grade. Individual pupils in Years 7-10 achieved A* grades
in Turkish, Chinese (Sihao Zhao was placed in the top 10
nationally) and Russian and a student achieved an A grade
at A Level in Arabic. These are fantastic achievements in
community languages studied out of school.
The Key Stage 3 results (SATS) were excellent.

We are absolutely delighted with all these results which,
once again, placed Nonsuch very high in the National league
tables and as one of the highest performing London schools.
Our position in the league tables does not reflect the results
of pupils taking examinations early; these are only credited
to the school when the pupils are in the year group of the
statistical return year. Congratulations to the pupils and
staff for such well-deserved success and to parents for
all the support and encouragement they give to their daughters.
