All maintained
schools are required to produce an annual statement of income
and expenditure for public funds at 31 March each year. The
annual statements are required to conform to the government's
Consistent Financial Reporting (CFR) format, which enables
the financial performance of schools to be compared nationally
and locally. The annual comparative exercise, which is known
as benchmarking, is an important part of the Governing Body's
financial monitoring procedures.
