Nonsuch Library
Library hours 8.30am - 4.00pm. Librarian: Ms S Malost

 
Pupils may borrow up to 4 books at any one time.
Loan period is 2 weeks.
Books may be renewed provided they have not been requested by another pupil.
If books are not renewed a fine will be charged.
 
Library Fines

2p per day for school days only.
This fine becomes payable the day after the due date shown.
Or the day after the first Monday if the date due falls over a weekend
Or the day after the first day of term following any term breaks
Or the day after the first day back at school following illness
Non payment of fines will result in pupils being disallowed from taking out any more books.
 
Photocopier
There is a photocopier in the library for pupil use. Black and white A4 and A3 only. A photocopy card costs £1.00 for 25 copies. Card dispenser is in the library.
 

 
Library rules and etiquette
No food or drink is allowed at any time in the library. This includes lunchtimes.

Pupils must respect silent study periods and not come to the library to talk.
At lunchtime and break-time the library opens its doors to all pupils who wish to work individually or together on projects or any other set work using library resources.
Pupils are allowed to talk within reason but must respect the need of others trying to work around them.

 
 
How to Use the Library
The library is organised by the Dewey Decimal System, used in most public libraries.
There are ten main classes (i.e. disciplines)
000 Generalities. General knowledge
100 Philosophy
200 Religion
300 The social sciences
400 Languages
500 Pure Sciences (Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology)
600 Technology (Applied sciences)
700 The Arts
800 Literature
900 Geography, history
