ADMISSIONS
COMMITTEE
Chair
2003/2004 Mr John Clay
The Admissions Committee
met once during the year to consider all aspects of the arrangements for
the admission of pupils to Nonsuch and to review the schools Admissions
Policy, which covers entry into all years. The admission arrangements
for Year 7 are operated jointly with our sister school, Wallington High
School for Girls and follow criteria that are designed to ensure that
the greatest number of girls is recruited from the immediate locality
of the two schools.
A particular issue for the Committee during the year was consideration
of the new Pan-London admission arrangements that will be introduced in
September 2004 for the cohort joining Year 7 in September 2005. Under
the new arrangements, parents will complete a common application form
naming up to six schools, which can be located within the London Borough
of Sutton and any other local education authority.
The Headmistress reported that the admission arrangements and Testing
Day had worked very well. The committee was pleased to note that applications
for places at the school had increased again with approximately 850 students
sitting the November 2003 test for entry in September 2004.
