Surrey SATRO

On Tuesday 15 March, 6 students in Year 10/11 took part in the final of the Surrey Satro Problem Solving Competition. Their task was to design and make a key operated device to launch a plastic ball and attach it to the judges. display board, using the energy from a single elastic band - a little reminiscent of a Velcro dart board you may have played with as a child.

The students had great fun, particularly when at one point during testing the ball actually went backwards and stuck in someone.s hair. They did really well and they were one of only 3 teams who actually managed to get their ball to stick to the display board.
