Welcome to the Psychology Department
at
Nonsuch High School for Girls

Psychology is offered as an AS level or A2 qualification.
Psychology has been steadily gaining in popularity over the last few years as students seek to widen their knowledge and understanding of behaviour and human interaction.

The staff
At Nonsuch, we have 3 specialist teachers offering a wide range of expertise across the subject. Our staff are fully committed to the academic success of all our students and additional tutorial support is readily available as needed.

The resources
The bulk of teaching takes place in the bright, new teaching block. Our teaching rooms are well-resourced, having access to a DVD player, an interactive whiteboard, a TV/Video player and overhead projectors, together with a range of up to date textbooks and associated journals. In addition, good use is made of internet resources.

The course
Students follow the AQA specification A which allows them to acquire a sound knowledge base as well as providing opportunities for practical work.

As part of extra-curricular activities occasional guest speakers are invited into the school to talk to students about their current work in specialist research areas
