Bhaktivedanta Manor
Our trip to Bhaktivedanta Manor in June gave year 8 an opportunity to
experience a Hindu faith community in action.
Seeing men with little pony tails, women with face paint, carts pulled
by bulls enabled us all to ask that all-important question: why? We could
also join in the experience: learn how to put on a sari and sit together
in rows on the floor to share a vegetarian meal.
We also saw the beautiful shrine and listened to chanting sung by local
worshippers. Much of what we saw challenged our hectic western lifestyle
and we came away with some nuggets of Hindu wisdom and lots of
souvenirs.
